Some of the charges are third party vendors (Network solutions, Intermedia, etc.) and some are my service fees. The prices may change at any time, and I reserve the right to do so without notice.

There are many tools out there to help out with this, but it can sometimes get pretty confusing. I can do most of the heavy lifting, and build the site for you, or I can work with you and show you what needs to get done, and how to do it, so you can not only control the site yourself, but save a lot of money in the process. |

Let's illustrate a typical site.
If you want to put your site (www.yourdomain.com) onto the internet, it will cost...
- $10 - registration of the domain name (through a registration service)
- $6 - per month for a basic web hosting service of any quality
- $75 - for 1½ hours of content entry
- $100- for 2 hours of ASP/JavaScript programming (pretty average for a 6 page site)
- $100- for 2 hours of graphics design for a a custom banner and graphical button on the site
- $100- for 2 more hours of graphics design for the graphics on each page
When it is all said and done, a site like the one you are looking at (aj-web-design.com) will run about $391. Then your site will be up and running, and you can start telling people "Hey, you should check out the greatest site on the web. It's at www.yourdomain.com!"

- Every "Domain Name" (www.amazon.com, www.askjeves.com, www.google.com, etc.) must be registered with the Domain Name System.

- Web Site Hosting
- A web site must be stored on a computer that is accessible by the internet. This means that it needs to be on an internet server somewhere. You can find hosting services for as little as $5.95/month. There are some "Free" hosting services, but these are generally not recommended, as they come with many drawbacks, such as limited, e-mail accounts, traffic, and storage space.

- Web Pages / Sites
- You are looking at a web page right now. It is a portion of a web site that can be viewed on one screen, with little or no scrolling (sometimes a whole lot of scrolling, but I usually try to stay away from too much scrolling, if it can be avoided). Many people confuse web sites with web pages. A web site is a collection of web pages. This site (AJWeb.EternaMall.com) has 6 web pages:

- Programming
- Some programming needs to be done to make a site function properly, like with the Contact form, I needed to code it so that it captures the information entered and sends it in an e-mail to me. Also, if you want buttons to change when you click on them, or hover over them, some JavaScript needs to be written.

- Custom Graphics Design
- A site would be pretty plain if it didn't have some sort of graphical elements, like a banner and some graphical navigation buttons. Custom graphics are graphics that are tailored to your specific needs and desires.
